On July 15th, 2024, the LSG staff, accompanied by a Korean delegation, visited the office of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Ali Amin Gandapur, in Peshawar. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Labour, the Secretary of Energy & Power, and the Chief Executive Officer of PEDO.
The Korean delegation expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for his valuable time and delivered a brief presentation on the Lower Spat Gah Hydropower Project. Mr. Bae, CEO of the project company, informed the Chief Minister that all necessary prerequisites had been filed with the regulator. However, the federal government had not yet entertained the application. In response, the Chief Minister assured the delegation of his full support and directed his staff to arrange a phone call with the Secretary of the Power Division. He also promised to discuss the Lower Spat Gah Project with the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Additionally, the Chief Minister requested the Korean delegation to explore further investment opportunities in the province, particularly in the field of transmission.
The delegation thanked His Excellency for his time and expressed hope for positive news from his office.
This meeting signifies a promising collaboration between the GoKP and Korean investors, potentially paving the way for enhanced energy infrastructure and economic growth in the region.
