On July 11th, 2024, the LSG staff, accompanied by Korean delegation from KHNP, met with Secretary Energy and Power Nisar Ahmad Khan, who emphasized the significance of foreign investment for the development of the energy sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He highlighted the province’s abundant hydropower resources as a valuable asset that, if utilized properly, could not only help alleviate the national energy crisis but also generate billions of rupees annually for the province through energy projects.

The meeting was organized for the investor delegation and included notable attendees such as Chief Engineer PEDO Khurram Durrani, Deputy Director of Renewable Energy PEDO Engineer Safdar Hayat, and Senior Planning Officer E&P Engineer Luqman Hakeem.

The Secretary reiterated the importance of such partnerships, noting that they would play a crucial role in harnessing the province’s hydropower potential, ultimately contributing to the economic prosperity of both the province and the nation. He called the foreign investment a milestone for the energy sector and underscored the government’s commitment to facilitating and supporting these initiatives.
